Hey SGP readers! We hope everyone is enjoying the crisp fall weather that has finally made it’s way to the south. This week, we are super pumped to be partnering with one of our fave local coffee purveyors, Revelator Birmingham, for a fun giveaway (check out our latest Instagram post for deets!), and it’s the perfect opportunity to share a recipe for some little cookies that are just MADE to be enjoyed with a cup of jo.
Don’t be deterred by the number of steps in this recipe - it takes some time, but the end result is WELL worth the effort and patience.
We’ve linked the recipe here, so you can read through all the tips and tricks to making the best cookie possible, but here are a few notes of our own.
Jam - Just about any flavor works well in these cookies, but we used a rose diamond nectarine from Sqirl LA that was especially delightful. Next, we’ll try raspberry or cherry.
Vanilla Extract - We are known for subbing Almond extract for many recipes that call for Vanilla, and we especially liked the flavor here. But this change is definitely up to you!
As we mentioned, this recipe takes some patience, so here’s a little baking hack for you - if you happen to tire of rolling out the dough for individual cookies, press the dough into a mini or regular sized tart pan for one BIG cookie (or really, a cookie-esque crostata).
