The star of your Oscars party, that is. If you’re in need of a last-minute treat to wow your guests, we’ve got you covered. Whip up a batch of this Salted Caramel Puppy Chow (with edible gold stars!), and it will be the hit of the night.

Salted Caramel Puppy Chow with Gold Stars

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 oz milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips (we used a mixture of both)

  • 1 12 oz jar caramel sauce

  • 1 tsp sea salt

  • 1 12 oz box Chex cereal

  • 1-2 cups powdered sugar

  • Edible gold stars and assorted sprinkles (we got ours from Michael’s)

  • Extra chocolate chips, caramel chips, or chopped Heath candy to mix in (optional)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Microwave chocolate chips in a glass bowl in 30 second intervals (stirring in between) until melted.

  2. Microwave caramel sauce 30-45 seconds, then mix with melted chocolate.

  3. Sprinkle in sea salt.

  4. In a large bowl, pour caramel chocolate mixture over Chex cereal and stir until evenly coated.

  5. Divide Chex mixture among two Ziploc bags. Pour powdered sugar over the mixture, seal, and shake until evenly coated.

  6. Pour into serving bowl, then top with edible stars, sprinkles and other desired add-ins.
