Behind the Scenes: The Peony Botanica Collection

Behind the Scenes: The Peony Botanica Collection

In 2020, I made it my goal to regularly carve out time away from my duties as a business owner and boss to create. Balancing the creative and business sides of what I do is tricky, and more times than not, creative time gets put at the bottom of my long to-do list. To help amend this, I rearranged my office to create a dedicated making space next to my desk. Up until recently, I’ve shared a table with my team in our main studio and it feels good to have my own area to work.

Before I started the Botanica Collections, I spent 100+ hours sketching anemones and peonies from life. I took my favorites of those drawings to use as templates for the designs for each of these tiles. I came up with twelve combinations of two-tile and three-tile designs that can be mixed and matched. I LOVE how these turned out and cannot wait to hang some in my own home.

Tomorrow, my latest series, The Peony Botanica Collection will release online. These will be offered with your choice of two or three tiles in the 17x18” size with wide white matts, and a contemporary gold frame ready to hang. Be sure you’re on our VIP email list, these will go fast! Sign up here.

My favorite thing about the Botanica series is that they can stand alone, in pairs, or in a grouping. Customers buy anywhere from 1 - 8 of these to hang in a gallery style or mix with other pieces of original art. What should our next flower series be? I’ve been playing with the idea of orchids, but would love your ideas, too! Comment below and let me know what you would like to see next.
