Earlier this month, I mentioned that there are several changes happening in 2021 at SGP that I would share with y'all soon. And one of the big changes has been on my to do list since I first started this business...and I'm excited to finally put this new update into motion.
In January 2014, I wrote down a pipe dream goal: that I'd like a "ready to ship" section in my Etsy shop (back in the ole days!) that listed items already made, finished, with no lead time to complete. At the time, this seemed just short of impossible.
Fast forward to the very end of 2019. My team and I consider this dream again, but for multiple reasons, it doesn’t quite work out.
Now it's March of 2020. Covid. We close our store for the safety of our team. We're forced to make the "ready to ship" vision work because we have to, to survive. All of the production for the store is redirected to the brand new tab on our website: Ready to Ship. We quickly discover how well it works - for the flow of making handmade products and for our customer.
My team and I spent almost all of 2020 thinking about what we want 2021 to look like and listening to your feedback on what you would like to see. And the response was clear - everyone wanted MORE pottery. So, today and moving forward, we will focus on moving everything to ready to ship, simplifying our production process to produce more of the handmade products you love with hardly any wait time.
What does this mean for you?
-We will continue to create your favorite handmade products in the most popular colors that will be restocked regularly. We are stocking our most popular colors based on what y’all have ordered over the years from us and continue to still love. Additional colorways and design offerings will flux seasonally, in line with trends we are seeing, and as new inspiration comes to me!
-Products will no longer have a long lead time and will ship out the door in 3-5 business days after you order. Tack on just a day or two to that for personalization, as we do those by hand and fire your handmade piece an additional time.
-Personalization will still exist in that you will have the option to add initials, a date, or a name on your favorite products in 22k gold.
