Despite the chilly weather, spring is around the corner and with that comes an influx of delectable new trends, silhouettes, and hues. As a Style Coach, and a former Trend Forecaster, I am like a kid on Christmas giddy with excitement to see what clothing and accessories are about to hit the stores. I love diving into the spring trends so that I can then help my Style Coaching clients navigate and best select the pieces that are right for their body type, personal style and lifestyle.
When the talented Susan Gordon invited me to speak at her beautiful new studio I knew that my wonderful clients were not the only ones curious as to what’s is in for the season, what basic pieces are needed to make outfits with ease and of course how to find these garments in the stores. I am very excited to share my top 10 list for the spring with YOU on Tuesday, February 18th !
To give you a sneak peek as to what I’ll be sharing in more depth at this lunch and learn, I wanted to share 3 of the items that are important pieces to secure and wear this upcoming spring season. Do keep in mind that not every trend is right for every body, so it’s important to think about which one(s) most resonate with you.
#1: Punchy Hues
Bold hues are always welcomed come warmer weather. This season we are seeing a plethora of vivid colors ranging from highlighter neon’s, to mid-range sunset colors, to bolder fuchsias and oranges. Many of my clients aren’t up for rocking colors this bold from head to toe so know it’s completely fine to try this trend in small doses. A great option to ease into wearing more color is a blazer, a shoe or a silk, lightweight scarf. Pair this colorful piece back with neutrals to tone it down and be ready for compliments!
#2:Chunky Chains
The past few seasons we’ve been enjoying the statement earring, and while that’s still important, bolder necklaces are making a huge comeback. We are especially seeing chunkier chain link options in shorter lengths. For the more classic woman, opt for a single shorter chain with your business attire, and for the more trend-driven woman try layering 2-3 chains of varying widths with your casual or evening ensemble.
#3: Non-Skinny Jeans
The skinny jean will always remain a classic piece, which many of my clients are thankful for given how often they wear this denim style. But for spring it’s time to branch out and try a fresh denim silhouette! It’s such an easy way to look current without going too bold, and without investing a lot in trendy pieces. Try a straight leg ankle style, a cropped flare style (also ankle length), or a full-blown flare jean! All are current, fun, and very flattering for most body types. Remember the balance rule when wearing these new styles---if your bottom half isn’t fitted, then your top should be more tailored to avoid looking overwhelmed by fabric.
This is just a sampling of what is important for spring, and I am looking forward to giving you more of the style scoop on February 18th! I’ll be diving into all 10 items that are important for you to know about, how to pick the right garments for you, and even where to find them to make shopping a breeze!
I look forward to seeing you soon! Snag your ticket via the link below, and don’t delay as space is limited!
