Each item in the collection features Susan Gordon Pottery’s iconic blue and white hydrangea chinoiserie floral motif, hand-painted on the surface of these metal statement pieces.

Over the last year, Susan Gordon and Mary Ashley Twitty have become close friends, sharing ideas and inspiration over drinks and in their local Business Mastermind small group. “Mary Ashley is one of the most creative and resourceful people I know. I am in awe of everything she creates and curates…she has impeccable and approachable taste. She is incredibly easy to work with, vivacious, and hilarious, and I am truly honored to be collaborating with her.” Both Susan and Mary Ashley are creatives, entrepreneurs, online shop and brick and mortar store owners, and based in Birmingham, AL.
about the designs
In this release of our limited-edition ever-evolving pottery series, inspired by a fanciful, old-world, East meets West aesthetic, our hydrangea pattern gets a fresh, clean look. Delft blue gestural floral hand-drawn marks gracefully decorate the surface of each piece. Every single one is painted by hand and is a true work of art on the canvas of our smooth white clay. I hope you all love the SGP take on a classic chinoiserie design.
The idea for this gorgeous design was the result of an experiment over six months ago with a new glazing process that just happened to turn out better than we expected! Over the next few months, my glazing team and I worked closely together to tweak and edit the design. Over 100 total pieces will be available in the following products: Ami, Adorn, Alene, Bijou, Desirie, Epiphany, Juliette, Hyacinth Vase, and our Pinch Dish.
