I didn't really know about this story until I ran across a piece of widow's mite art created by my soon-to-be dear friend, Lacey. I turned the tiny shadow box frame around and read the story attached to the back. About 2000 years ago, a widow laid her last two pennies at Jesus' feet in an act of worship. She was thought foolish by man, but praised by Jesus.
Several years later, while gathering with a small group of artists and creative friends, Lacey vulnerably shared her story of suffering and God's redemption in her life with our small group of artist and creative friends. Soon after, I reached out to Lacey to see if she wanted to create a really special necklace with me using the mite coin design. The rest is history...
